Columbus Square's legendary recreation leader Ralph Frangipani enjoys a good cigar as he watches the action from a vantage point a puff away from Mike Schmidt. To Frangipani's right is ABC's Scott Palmer (currently the Phillies' Public Relations Director) and legendary South Philadelphia photographer, Mike Reno.

Frangipani, who had worked at the popular playground in South Philadelphia for many years, was promoted to oversee the field operations at Veterans Stadium in the early '70s.
